Our model is premised on the logic of Ubuntu, an African cultural competence where it takes a village to raise a child. While we offer scholarships to selected vulnerable children in Africa, we use an inclusive approach (the village approach) to engage parents, caregivers, community leaders, the elderly, schools and children to maximize the impact of our literacy operations and scale up our success rate. By offering scholarships and reading support, we set the youth on a pathway to developing confidence so they can leave lasting footprints as adults who will in turn give back to their communities.
